All Negative’s staff was present during the Expocomic 2009, promoting magazine #3. Many artists joined us during the event: Ixchel Villavicencio, Antonio Osuna, Carlos Varela, Alejandra López, Astrid Makosla, making some brand new works in just a matter of minutes.

Even though it wasn’t as long as last year's expocomic, it definitely reached it’s goal: to entertain the audience (especially the otaku’s one) of Cancún, who anxiously waited for these to days to come. ¿Why? For several reasons, which are:

Videogame Tournaments

Videogamers

Guitar Hero, Gears of War, Halo y Super Smash Bros Brawl were some of the games that gathered the gamer community into the convention.

Merchandise Shops

¡Todo tipo de peluches!

Stuffed animals, tail and cat ears, Bunny ears, pins, hundred of posters, comics and manga, collectible cards and decks, Nintendo gums, energetic videogame drinks, keychains, collars, hats, t-shirts…A whole World of items that usually can only be found at this kind of event!

Autograph Signings

Doblaje en español

The Spanish voice of Bob Squarepants and Aang from avatar kindly signed some autographs. They also gave some conferences and answered the crew’s questions. From time to time, you could hear the laugh of Bob, amusing the fans.

Live Music

Gazzette

Inside the auditorium, besides watching Anime episodes, Death Note and Dragon Ball Z movies, Gasara and Raizen, two local bands played some of their songs, and some anime covers too.

Karaoke Contest

Vocaloid Cosplayers

Here you could unleash the singer within you. Some Vocaloid’s songs were sung by a group of cute cosplayers.

Cosplay Contest

Participantes en el estrado

The cosplay contest is probably the most awaited event by everyone. This time, there were pretty neat disguises. The winner being a Soldier of Umbrella from Resident Evil.

In the drawing contest, the first place was won by a girl who showed a natural ability in the use of colors, lights and shadows. We hope that she gets in touch with us, so we can show her winning drawing in our web page.

Besides, the cardgame players of Magic The Gathering and Yu Gi Oh! were able to duel for a long time. If they wanted to take those duels further (and by that, we mean physically) they could do it in the Medieval Zone, where sword against sword (previously stuffed with cotton) would show who was the strongest and fastest of all.

The shops began to close around 8:30 p.m. But the party wouldn’t be over there, for a closure dinner was going to start at the restaurant “Sr. Frogs”. The only thing we have left is to wait for the next convention, rumored to be held in October 2009.

Cosplayers, gamers, singers and duelers... Stay in touch!
